Challenge

The dog food subscription landing page sat on page two for the primary commercial query with only 15 referring domains, mostly from pet coupon sites. Educational content on ingredients and feeding schedules had almost no external citations versus larger subscription competitors.

Approach

We targeted a feeding-guide hub and the subscription LP with 27 editorial links over five months across veterinary-adjacent education, pet lifestyle publishers, and resource lists, while keeping coupon and deal placements off the target map.

Full narrative

How the program actually ran

Starting point

A premium dog food subscription on Shopify had its acquisition LP stuck on page two with 15 referring domains skewed to coupons. Ingredient and feeding guides were thin on citations.

Approach

Education hub + LP first. No coupon sites. Exact-match under 12 percent. Median DR: 46. Two PR pieces used anonymized feeding-pattern data.

Results

LP reached position 9 by week 16. Organic trial signups rose 41 percent by month five versus the baseline month, with creative testing as a caveat. Cluster referring domains reached 49.
